Default 6 speed advise-->in here

My first time to the track in my new SS this weekend....2001 M6. Couple questions for my particular set-up:

Mods-
SUX2BU intake
pacesetter LTs
Texas Speed y pipe
magnaflow cat back
P/P TB
Freebies
SFC
RK sport drop springs
LCA relocation brackets
4.10/TA cover in the stock 10 bolt
Hoosier 26x9.5 Quick time Pros
oem clutch that gets pissed easy

1. How should I prep the tires (no line lock)...worried about hop....BOOM
2. Any particular launch advice?

I figure you all will say babby that F****** of the line and romp it!

Thanks,
See you at Famoso the 25th/26th

19 psi in the hoosiers, 2200rpm launch and get out of the clutch ASAP. it will bog down but it will save the clutch and still prolly cut a 1.9 (thank god for ls1 torque)

no need for a big burnout with the QTP's. just rolling them over a few times will prolly honestly do the trick.

a friend of mine was cutting 1.4's on 26x10.5( or 11.5) QTP's at 18 psi and dead hooking it

thanks bro. I'll try that. Burnout/psi advise seems to be the same across the board. I'll try a launch like that......and one off idle-ish

Anyone else?

Long story short....3 runs: 18-20psi all runs

1.
1.9 60 ft
12.7@111
launced at ~2500, bogged bad.

2.
1.8 60 ft.
12.4@113
launched at 3000, little better, still bogged

3.
1.9 60 ft
12.3 @113
launced at ~4000, spun a little too much.

Eh, not exactly, after the last pass, when I was coasting and braking.......I reached the turn to the time-slip house and shifted from 4th to 2nd. When I let my foot up off the clutch, it LITERALLY waited a half second to spring up. It felt like **** after each pass, and believe me, I'm off that bitch lickety split during shifts/launching!

Still did alright though. I think I'm gonna try to grab the last few bolt-ons, clutch/flywheel, start some weight reductions......

AND SHOOT FOR AN 11 SEC BOLT ON M6!!
