Hi Guys,
I am wondering what manual master cylinder you guys are using.
Strange and Wilwood offer a few choices and they don't seem to be
terribly expensive. What size bore would be recommended?
I have drag brakes for the rear and will eventually have them for the front too.
Also, what is the pedal feel like with the manual master.

I have the Strange manual master cylinder kit that Billingsley sells, and yes you should drill a new hole 1" higher than the stock location to give it a better angle of attack. If you don't the arm will have a downward slope and your leverage won't be as good.

 

How is it driving on the street with manual brakes?

 

When I first installed the brakes with the factory brake booster and master cylinder they were very touchy.
After the manual master install they were much better, also saved weight. I highly recommend the manual master cylinder. Money well spent.

I don't remember right off hand. Give Jay a call at Billingsley Racing. I'm sure he could tell you. I bought the Strange drag brakes and manual master with line lock from them.
I'm willing to bet the Smith brothers deal (since your in Canada)is probably the same thing that Jay sells.

how is the manual brake's like, is it the same as the old school cars? Used to have a 65 impala...65 C10 with out power brakes, would this be the same feeling? and how many of you all use this on the street as a daily driver?

 

I have manual brakes. Using a factory manual master from a different car. With an adjustable proportioning valve. It stops just as quick as a power system. It just takes a little more pedal effort.
