I wrapped mine around the cage and used the metal lock down straps that came with the harness to secure the ends to the cage.

So yours doesnt bolt to the cage with 1 bolt? you have 2 straps going to cage? I have 1 bolt that goes to cage but not sure how thick the bracket needs to be and where to mount it. Maybe 1/4in thick?

Thanks

No mine does not bolt to the cage. Both shoulder straps wrap around the crossbar and have a metal slip lock that holds them tight, and the other three points bolt to the floor.

i think 3/16 is plenty. i have seen one that just drilled a hole through the bar and stuck a bolt all the way through it. dont know if it would pass tech though.

NHRA rules are bolt in....[ bolted in floor, and on bar ].....you can get away with whatever - wherever though....no wraparounds allowed in the big-leagues.....

Thanks everyone for the help. I just welded a 3/16 tab off the back of the cross bar and bolted the seat belt to it.

Thanks
