Default When is it enough?

At first you say:
"boy I can't wait to run these stock 13's" than you say "man it sure would be something to be break into the 12's" than you say "12's are nice but damn if I could just get into the 11's that would be a real statement!"

Sometimes I wonder What I am going to do when my wallet self ignites itself or desingrates!

i am there. Enough is high 9s low 10s. That is as fast as I can afford to go reliably. I want to continue to still drive the car every day and to the track so I am "there".

I'm with Cablebandit. When the car starts to become unreliable I'll back it off a little and I'm done. I'm HOPING I can get a mid to low 10 sec car reliable. -Mark

We are all sick sick sick sick! Do they have a shot or pill to help us with this sickness?

Here how the insanity progresses:

You are running 14’s-13’s and ordering parts
“Well the part I need is only $50.00”

You are running 12’s-11’s and ordering parts
“Well the part I need is only $200.00”

You are running 10’s-9’s and ordering parts
“$500.00 aint bad for that part!!”

You are running 8’s-7’s and ordering parts
“Lets see I have $2000.00 in my checking account, the parts are $1949.99.. I can live on $50.00 for two weeks till the next pay check! Lets DO IT”

It never ends........trust me. I went from 13's to 10's, then 9's, now hopefully 8's..........

Only problem is that with my new job I work more hours than previously....more responsibility, more travelling, etc...........I work on my car pretty much every night and on weekends, but now I am wondering how many times I am actually going to be able to go racing this season..........

It's a never ending cycle, simple as that.

It’s a never ending story like gambling for less times and losing drivability
And lots of $$ with it.
I think I will be happy with a low 10's DD.

I started having fun at about 10.50. It get's old real fast though and I suspect it's like that with just about any number a real street car will see. I think my car will be taking most of this season off so I can come out with something alittle different late next year.

I understand this whole situation LOL... last year I got a bet of 12.24@114 out of my car, and several 12.3 to 12.6 passes. I think I made a total of 11 passes, worst of 12.68, best of 12.24, and a few I tried somethign with tire pressure, launch, etc.etc and aborted rather then waste my time, when I saw the 60 foot time at the end of last tummer, I made the decision to either shut it downa nd try again, or finish out the run.

Now, this year's plan was to put a th400 in and a set of heads and shock, and go for mid to low 11's... but a bottom end hiccup has switched that to a full 402 motor, th400, shocks, etc.etc... and rying for 10.80 or better, before the weight reduction starts. Over the winter, the plan is to gut and cage, every LW part I can afford, and try for 10.20 next year or better, on motor. If I get the car to that then I can stop, as I think a car that runs 10.20 on motor, and still has a plate on it is respecable enough. But, if I can't get it there, then a direct port is the next step, after that, I dunno what the goal will be, guess somewhere in the high 9's on a small shot to keep it reliable I guess... who knows.

Bottom line, you have to decide when you want to stop, and not let everyone around you egg you on to the next level. Personally, I always wanted to get the car to be a mid 10 second car... how I get it there, never really made that decision, just knew where I wanted to get it to. I figure if I'm getting beat on the street with a car that runs mid 10's, then I probably deserve what I'm getting LOL.

When you smell **** and hear the sound of broken glass

ABSA.... personally, if the pewter pig will go a high 9 on the TH400 and small hit at "close" to it's current weight(which is btw fat as *****).... it'll be done. Still like to enjoy the benifits of a weekend cruiser w/out the necesities of a dedicated track car-
