Default Heat/Humidity adds how much to ET?

went out to Dragstrip on saturday....big mistake....track temp was 138 degrees and traction was a lilttle poor because the starting line was like sweating up oil/grease.....

My question is on a day like Saturday was...(very hot and humid)...how much do you think that would add to the ET?.
Temperature was in the mid 90's and humidity was high.
Everyone was saying that the weather was killing the times, but no one had a good guess as to how much.

My times can vary 2-4 tenths between good winter air and bad summer air. So an 11.60s pass now becomes 11.40s in good air. The Formula usually runs 13.40s-13.50s in the 3000+ DA air during summer time and 13.00s-12.90s in winter air.

so a half second difference between crappy 3400+ DA air and cooler fall air is possible?

Thanks

Sure, but every car is different, depending on conditions, times the car is running, etc. But sure it's possible to see 4-5 tenths.

rule of thumb that I use is .1 ET and 1mph for every 10degrees change. humidity and barometric pressure are also a factor though.

I am not a big fan of using a density altitude figure for anything.

When using a Relative HP Calculator such as http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_hp_dp.htm - the DA to achieve a zero dyno correction factor is 1800'. When you see a DA like that, you think of reduced performance, when actually that is "average" air.

Back on topic: when it's hot, dont go racing!

I usually see from .4-.5 tenths and equal mph. Down south the weather is a bigger factor in my opinion because of the higher humidity (here comes the bricks)

there is high humidity in a LOT of the country. I swear everyone in their own region thinks they are the only ones that get humid weather. sorry, I travel all over the country for work and get irritated when people say that

Let's edit that a little:

Go racing if you want, just don't expect best times in the summer I still race during the summer, still fun to make blasts down the track!

And bring lots of water! I usually down 7-8 20 oz waters in one day at the track.

1/2 sec is normal, but it does depend on DA. You could have a dry hot day and run good or a cool humid day and run bad.
