Default Time Slip reading *bad track*

Hey all, I got to the Maple Grove pa 1/4 strip this w/e and it was slick as all get out.

No one had traction us street tire guys were really all over. Everyone I spoke to ran either .5 to 2+ seconds slower it was also quite hot. The track wasn't prepared well at all.

I was pretty consistant with my runs they all were slow as dirt but everyone was so don't be too hard on me. As for the feel, Launching I've done alot better on the street *same techinque* so I don't think it was driver as much as track, my shifting might have been a tad early @ 5800.

I'll post up 3 slips and maybe you guys could say if I'm doing ok and if my car is heathly

60' 2.4 -- 2.4 - 2.4
330' 6.2 -- 6.4 - 6.3
1/8 9.3 -- 9.5 - 9.4
mph 80 -- 79 - 78
1000 11.9 -- 12.1 -- 12.1
1/4 14.1 -- 14.3 -- 14.3
mph 102 -- 101 -- 98

first run was vs a caged H/C stang he ran a 14.7 on street slicks. w00t to being faster then a caged car. 3rd run my clutch was sizzling and kinda hard to fight with.

These were my first runs with my new hurst/lss setup. I was running 35psi on fuzion zris no burn out . My mods are mti lid and a magna mouth catback. car is a 99 z28 m6.

Any tips or thoughts does the car seem healthy? I know those 60 foot times are killing me but I tried going with what works normally and 1st gear I was sking.

What might the car be good for with better track and cooler day?
PS don't go camping in camaro long story LOL!

That's what alot of corner carvers said to run and i've seen many people who drag say leave the psi alone on street tires.

Was this a mistake I asume?

no he's right. For the front I put them at max for the rear non DR I run them at around 25psi. For DR's I go as low as 15psi. -Mark

wow....

even in this heat, take the time to go to atco or cecil.

my buddy has crap $50 tires on and hes at 18 psi pulling 1.7s in an auto. take the psi down to 20 at the lowest. and shift at 6k, make sure not to hit the rev limiter set at 6200.

you can run low 13s if not high 12s at 109 mph in the fall w/ good air.

i ran 13.1 @110 bone stock.

Ok so everyone agrees my psi was way to high?

I asume with my mph car is ok though? That's my biggest worry.

Yea, for a M6.. 103 - 105 would be normal. But it also depends on weather and driving ability. Shift that thing at 6000

1/8th mile MPH is normally 80-82

dont worry about it till fall honestly. your racing in the worst weather.

stock 6sp mph is 105-110.

your mph is down due to weather and traction.

-brandon

ps if you want let me know when you want to go to atco and ill meet you there to help you out w/ some tips. ive helped a handful of newbs leave w/ new bests thta are good times.

i always love when people whine about maple grove because they can't get their car to hook. our DRAGSTER hooks there on friday nights 1.11 60 ft. when we are testing stuff and my camaro on st. tires was there 2 fridays ago and was 1.755 on st. tires one off normal just have to know how to finess the car but maple grove is a helluva nicer track in general.
