Default Which SPAL fan are you guys running?

I'm ready to swap out my stock twin radiator fans for a nice lightweight single unit, but I just had a few questions.

1. How many CFM should I be shooting for to keep up with or surpass that of the stockers?

2. Would a single 16" do the trick?

3. Also, what would I need to do to retain the stock relay AND to have it on a manual override switch for hot times?

Here's the high CFM fan I like that weighs 5.17 lbs
High CFM

Or one with less CFM, but only 2.9 lbs.
Less CFM Lightweight

I'm thinking the one with more CFM and take the 2.xx lb weight hit.

Thanks in advance.

i have fal low profile dual fans and worked fine if you want to get those. i ran many 16" fans on BB i've done with no heating problems. so it won't be a problem running one on a lsx. i just put one in a 69 BB bird, it's a FAL-398 16.6x15.7 4"thick and flows 2500 cfm can be used as a pusher or puller and goes for $119.

So around 2500 CFM should do the trick?

Do you know what it weighs offhand?

Hmm. Do you guys not think it's worth it?

I mean the stockers have to weigh more than 12 lbs. Closer to 16 with the plastic shroud I'd bet.

I run a single 16in fan. Wired it in with the stock wiring, and let the computer turn it on and off. Car runs at the same temp as the factory fans. I believe it save about 5lb of weight.
