When I began drag racing, I tried using calculators on the net, powered by local weather reports, also from the net. That approach will yield very gross estimates of the actual DA. And the result will vary substantially from racers using hand-held weather stations, such as those made by TAG.

Gotta remember that most net formula assume the input for barometer is in "absolute pressure." That number is diiferent from the "barometric pressure" given by weather site and TV.

Bottom line is that if you want to know the DA at your track, you need to buy a hand-held weather station. Even then, those instruments need to become acclimatized to local conditions. Mine typically needs 15 minutes in the shade before is stabilizes and provides accurate reading. Can't just keep it in the car and then hang it out the window for a quick reading.
