A ALCAHOL FUEL ALTERED PERHAPS? there was just a HUGE aa/fa race up here at Kennedale a few weeks ago called the BHRA Nationals, someone of your stature should have heard about that right? i've sat in an aa/fa before while warming up the bullet at a local guy's shop. just because i'm 23 doesn't mean i havn't ate, slept and breathed drag racing for the last 23 years. i never said you didn't have that setup. lots of people come here and say " what would happen if i had blahblahblah setup" when in all reality they don't have that setup, and never will. if there is anyone running 8s with a 4L60E i would be honestly amazed. i would expect that the car would have to be crazy light as well. could you pm me the info on the trans, such as cost etc?

and just for nostalgia's sake, here's one of a VERY early top fueler built by Bobby Langly here in Fort Worth.

this type of setup has been considered aa/fa by some in the past, but this particular one was run in Top Fuel when it was in competition in the late 50s early 60s.

AA/FA is AA FUEL ALTERED. A TOP FUEL motor in a short chassis usually with a t-bucket body or something similar. There are a few around run as exhibitation cars but NHRA banned the class long ago. Modern exhib. AA/FA cars use a fuel funny car chassis with an old T style body & handle a lot better than the junk stuff we ran "back in the day". They were evil handling on tires that would now be antique. They were unsafe. I was a flunky at a speed shop & expendable so they let me drive. I haven't driven a nitro car since the mid 70's. I quit racing in the late 90's. Last 2 cars were methanol (TOP Sportsmam & TOP Dragster). Still fairly fast .The Sportsman car was an '82 VETTE that went a best of 6.81 at 207. Haven't followed racing much in a long time. Just collected '60s Chev SS cars until this C-5 came along & it is def. not a hard core race car or mean't to be any kind of statement. Just fun to drive sometimes. My old TOP Dragster car was similar to a modern AA/FA but used 125 in. wheel base & blown /alky/BBC for power.

Default Car

That picture is exactly correct. Early cars did not have wrinkle walls and usually smoked the whole Quarter. Sorry to get off subject. ON SUBJECT.....NINE BALL told me not to quote prices because THUNDER was a sponsor. I think I could say with the converter ,options etc you would be over 4k.
