also what do y'll think of runing without any THING....i.e just the thottle???

A buddy of mine used that same material for a ram air on his foxbody and the end of the tube calapsed inward once he would go WOT. I'd try to get something that is more sturdy like PVC or something. But I agree no filter for track only. -Mark

 

I think it will collapse on you personally. You should run a filter though all you need is a leaf to go up there and get stuck on the MAF and it will throw your whole car outa wack (happened to a friend) So just put a cone style on if you want to stick to a tube like that. Good luck

 

I'd say run with out it and SD tuning (race only) no filter

 

That material is going to heat soak like a bitch.

I had the same plan use that, then reconsiderd.

It wont collapse. It is the heavier duty heater hose and a bunch of people have been using that stuff for years. Do a search for SUX2BU intake on here and check his setup. Same on I am switching up to. It will probably outpower yours and still be able to run a filter.

Why is your radiator leaned back like that?

 

With just the throttle it gets its air from wherever. With the pipe its getting nice cold air right from up front

I did mine like this the first time with the metal duct, but then I redid it with 4" neoprine brake ducting from Jegs. part # 555-63115

 

www.mcmaster.com look at page 195, Neoprene coated Fiberglass Duct hose. Comes in a **** load of sizes, inside is pretty smooth and its Very flexible. Its also has good pressure and vac ratings, uses a steel reinforcing wire. I just got done building a setup using this. Cost me under $100 for everything, including filters(autozone ricer isle specials). I know it kinda ricey, but in order to tuck the filters in a lil more i would have to cut the frame horns off.
