You guys like the chromemoly huh...and the aluminum

What about the metal matrix shafts?

Should I worry about power loss, and more vibration do to less flex with the Denny's NR steel shaft?

I have a 3.5" alum. from Inland Empire in my '68. Its taken probably 400 passes off the 'brake at 6000 rpm and 1.30 short times. That was with the old 800hp N/A motor. I'm replacing it with a Denny's NR shaft over the winter 'cause the F2 WILL destroy it.

I have heard good things about Inland Empire. They make the driveshafts for Moser.

Its a nice piece for the money. Mine's going to be for sale VERY soon if you're interested. Not sure if the length would be right but.....

I'm on steel and I know plenty of guys that are crusing still with steel. One time I was watching a friend of ours on the line and he had his aluminum one sheer right at the front welds, it was exciting for sure.

Is there a reason non of you are running Carbon fiber drive shafts?

Im running a 3.5" carbon fiber piece from ACPT thats been in the car for over two years with no problems. It hasnt seen mutch track abuse yet though due to the car going through two owners and several different engine combos.

PST Precision Shaft Technologies http://www.pstds.com/index.htm

Carbon Fiber for over 6 years now. Thousands of 8 and 9 second passes in 3280 lbs car.

I love carbon fiber driveshafts!

I have a 3.5 inch alum one in my car.. no problems. It takes 6000 rpm transbrake launches with my 3580 lb car no issues... once the car dead hooks it might be differnet, but only time will tell.

FWIW, it was in a low 9 second nitrous car and had no issues in that car either.

Strange CM here, nice driveshaft but lightweight it isnt. I have a 3.5 inland aluminum shaft I keep as a spare, there is a 9lb difference in weight if I remember.
