Same here... 9in cut down 3in per side with 15x10 Alumastars with a 5in back spacing. My 28x10.5s only rub at high 1/4 mile speeds when the slick is swelling. I currently have the BMR Extreme Duty LCA's and they are really fat in diameter which is the reason for the tire rubbing. Once I switch to offset control arms I'm gonna go to 325/50s.

Yeah everything will bolt up , you will have to make some mods to the E brake cable brackets , and get some offset lca's to run the 325/50, but thats about it !

I narrowed mine 2" on each side without any modification to the stock rear suspension.

Seems like a 2" narrow is good for guys who want a deep dish, but without the offset LCAs and the extensive cutting and banging...

I would like to go 3", but may go 2" to save some time and money...and cutting blades lol. Subscribing, great thread!

I will have 3" per side with a Weld Alumistar on a 5" BS. With a little massaging of the wheel well (no Mini tub) I can fit a 29.5 x 10.50. I will have pics up this week. The worst places are the bump stop area and the front of the wheel well for a big tire. I should have pics at the end of the week.

We also have the rear ends on sale.

Another thing that need some work is the emergency brake line bracket will need some fitment work, I got rid of my E brake so it didnt matter.

That's my set up as well. With reg. offset and non adj BMR lower control arms. I went with the M&H drag radial. The section width is 12.3 on the M&H compaired to the 13.0 section width of the MT drag radial. The tire helped a lot on the inner fender. I didn't have to do any hammering, but still removed the bumpstop and e-brake.

What size tire did you go with and how do you like those tires?

325/50/15

The little bit I got to drive on them last year I liked how they performed on the street, but I never made it to the track.

I seems like the sidewall is softer and will flex more than the MT's did.

It would be great to have some cars test tire vs. tire on the same few car with a few different tires, like a magazine king of the tire shootout.

I am getting ready to do a 9" with a -3" narrow, but I was going to run a 4.5" BS Weld draglite. Would I still need to run offset control arms?

I narrowed mine 3 inches per side, 325/50's 5 inch BS wheel and a full minitub.

I had to have offset LCA's, I also had my panhard rod mount on the rear moved over and shortened to panhard rod. Be careful of how you play with BS, my LCA bolt is VERY close to the lip of my rim.

Order the rims and tires first, then mock it up and measure between the rims and order the rear end that width, that way it will fit perfect.

Thats why I was thinking 4.5 BS. It would bring the wheel back out some. I will put the wheels in there and measure before I order the rear.

You should consider the new Moser M9 rear, which comes with their new killer torque arm and tranny crossmember combination. My Camaro was the first car to get this new combo, and it helped us to cut some great 60ft times immediately. Bob

Did you see the rear end that madman posted that burkhart chassis made?

It has the LCA on the rear end narrowed for more clearance between the LCA bracket and rim/tire.

this rearend was narrowed 4 inches and had a narrowed and relocated lca bracket to keep the rear of the lca still in the center. 4 holes for adjustment and plenty of clearance at the tire. this option available at no extra charge on my fabricated housing packages.
