Narrowed 9 inch
15x10 with a 5.5 b/s should work with a rear narrowed 2 inches per side. best way is to buy the wheels and tires you want in that b/s range, then set them in the wheel openings with no rearend in the car and measure between the bolt flanges on the wheels. this way it fits right the fist time when you have the rearend done.
OK I'm a newb to narrowing rears and I'm wondering what the advantage of narrowing the wheel is and changing the rims offset. Cant you run a stock width rearend and just adjust the rim offset? I can see a little weight savings but otherwise cant see any advantage. Sorry if I sound silly, but again this is new to me.
You can keep the stock rear end width and just have more offset.
You will be limited on rim size, you won't find a 15x12 with a 9.5 or 10" back space.
If you are going to run a 15x8 or 15x10 you could get away with a stock width rear end by running more back space, but you'll be limited to how much you can tuck the tire in and a lot of cars I have seen running this setup the tire sticks out past the fender lip and you'd never be able to lower the car past a certain point.
