the jute isnt what weighs so much... its the rubberized backing on the factory carpet. i dont think any of the aftermarket suppliers rubberize their carpets.

Yeah they do. Read the descriptions and you'll see that at least half of them are attached to some sort of rubber backer. In fact I bought ozite for that reason, I couldnt find any without the rubber backer.

Just got my ozite in today. The roll bars should be painted by the weekend, so I should be installing carpet next week.

This place offered it as an option as well as a heavier thicker carpet, but I figure for me that is not why I'm doing this. My car has gotten very heavy and I'm trying to take out weight without gutting it. It still has all the factory goodies for cruising in the hot summer days, oh how I miss those right now

Oh well hopefully come spring I will have 100lbs out of the car and it will hardly be noticed, except a little extra road noise and hopefully improved ET's and handling!

I have added a lot of weight to the car, 6 pt roll bar, 12 bolt, sub frames torque arm, twin disk clutch, strut brace, SFI bell housing, steel drive shaft, 3/4" thicker head, bigger crank, etc etc. I need to get this thing on a scale.

Only thing removed is the back seat.

You can ditch the sfc's if youve got a 6pt roll bar, that will save some weight

Doors are swing outs and I autcross the car too, so I need to limit the flex. Some days I wish I had skipped the T tops. then again on a sunny day with the tunes cranked, I change my mind again.

The only reason I put the 6 pt in is the track tossed me and I only play at the track.

If the roll bar is welded I would ditch the SFC's.

Lol, i hear you on that one, I love the ttops. If i did an full on autocross or dragcar though i think i would have to get a hardtop.

The 6 pt should stiffen the car enough to where the sfcs are just added weight, you can always take them out and see if you can tell a difference, but i think the decreased weight will be more beneficial then the possibly extra stiffness from the sfc's.

I'm waiting to see the final product, and the fit as well. If it fits good, I may say to hell with the ozite if this can be done with it only weighing 8 lbs and fit right... the trouble it will save me would be worth the $

Where is the Ozite purchased from?

I'm gonna have to on this thread for a while.

I just went through some **** to try and clean up my carpet.

Anyone know where to get OEM mats? Looking for nothing on them or maybe SS.

SLP is just not my style.

anyone get this stuff yet and get it installed? I wanna order it, but I want to see it installed to make sure it fits right first.....

Someone that's got it (thread starter) please post up some pic's...

If this stuff is as light as you say and fits, these guys should have given you yours, you are gonna sell a ton of their stuff for them!
