sweet, I'm dying ot see how the carpet looks/fits... if it's even close to factory fitment and weigh's in at 8 lbs I'm ordering it today.

Nope.....they fit the same. A friend of mine ordered one for his 97 T/A. The fit was the same and had the same bad spots on it. He threw it in the trash and is going back to a stock GM carpet.

really... that's intresteing to hear. I wonder if the guy that started this thread actually got his before he posted this up, and I wonder how his fit?

If I can't get any positive info on the fit/look of this stuff... I'm going back to my original plan of the ozite and some spray adhesive/velcro around the wires to hold it down.

I have a link to the ozite at home, I'll post it up when I get home tonite. the ozite is 80 inches wide so it's a single piece the whole width, and lenth of the car. What you do is spray some 3m spray adhesive on the floor, start in the center of the car and go around with the carpet.... you can use velcro (1/2 of it) and hold the carpet in place on the floor aorund the wiring too with that, either temporarily, or you can leave it so you can take the carpet up around the wire without tearing it off where the adhesive is and put it back down.

The hard part is figuring out where the center of the carpet is so you can start from the center out. Everyone I have talked to said if you start in the center near where the console is, lay that down first, then put the console in the car so it's stuck, work the front down and attach the trim pieces and stuff back, then do the back 1/2 little by little it will come out the best.

The ozite I have a link to is relativly stretchy, so it's not too bad to conform to the rear seat area, etc.etc. If you have the rear seat in the car still, it will probably look very very good, with the seat out, it's a litl eharder, but still doable.

Leave all the seat belt bolts and stuff in the floor, so after the carpet is in, you can feel around for them and cut and pop them thru accordingly, searching for holes later, is a pita to say the least.

well Im at home and have been sick but I did get mine in today. I pulled it out and seeing as how nothing is inside the car I just laided it out to see how it fit in the car and looked. The carpet is really nice and thick. I asked them to leave the padding off the bottom which they didnt so I pulled it off. It weighted 12.5 lbs. anyway mine looked like it was going to lay down nice.

The adhhesive comes off relativly easy, if you get the right stuff. I have used soem ebfore that wd40 will pretty much make it wipr right off, which if I take this route is what I will use. It's very much like a spray on ruber cement, but sticks a little better.


Mike you say it lays out pretty good... does it go up far enough in the front, no abnormal humps or anything? PLEASE get some pic's of it, I'd rather spend 229 then spend 8 hours stretching ozite if at all possible, but I want to see it first.

mine is actually too long and I will have to trim some of it back it looks like but that a good thing. I told them I wanted mine to go from the front of the car all the way back over the hump and believe me its long enough. I tried to post the pics of it but its saying my pic is too big. Dont know about all that.. anyway Im very pleased with mine. I didnt get in it and fit it 100% but I can tell its going to go down fine.

I started to put it in tonight. I have about 3hours in it so far. The fit is marginal at best, but I also have the issue of trimming around 6 rollbar points, so I thought it was just me. The fit in the front is almost perfect, the back seat is a bit of a problem though, driver side looks pretty good, but the passenger side has some issues. I'm going to try an experiment tomorrow with some of the off cuts. See if a steam iron and or heat gun will let me mold it a bit. I'll let you know how it goes. If I had a back seat it would not likely even be noticed.


As for carpet, there seems to be plenty, from right up under the dash to a few inched over the rear lip. I trimmed tons from the sides to 6"+ either side.

Well it has not gone nearly as well as I would have liked.


I'm not happy with it, but I'm very picky. I have talked to them and they say they are going to work with me. I plan on having no rear seat in the car since weight loss is the goal and I did not want rear seat deletes, again weight. Plus I carry tires in the car to the track and I need all the room I can get. The rear seat is in this pic, but its a lot better with it out.

I will let you know when its done. I have been focussed on my clutch and axles lately. the car is still on axles stands do to waiting on my new Moser axles.

I should see if I have pictures when its loaded for an autocross. This year I'm going to try to stuff 2 x 295's and 2 x 315's in it. I'm not sure if I will manage this feat or not. The picture shown also had room for the wife to ride shotgun

This year will be on Hoosier A6's last year was Kuhmo V710 275's. Had no issues getting them in but is was snug with the roll bar, but again I did not use the front seat at all.

These tires are both very soft and do not like many heat cycles, plus the Ontario police frown on tires with no tread, DOT or not.
