Line has already said that they will NOT run the DRCE3 this season full time, only after they are positive they have a handle on it. Came directly from his mouth. He doesn't want to have the same issues as Warren/Kurt did last year and waste a season. Thats what Jason said himself so if its wrong i don't know what to say...

if they used the LSx motors they would slow down about 1.5-2 seconds.... however if they did the class like that the gm cars would likely dominate the mopars...

gmpp is deep on the add gig, and this is to be taken as nothing more. to gain 5hp is Pro Stock takes countless tests and months of science. The LS platform, while good for our sportsman cars is far from ready for the big show. Trust me.

son, i know plenty about pro stock, i was being sarcastic for the most part with the comment. however, i doubt WJ or GA would get one into the 7s with an LSX platform motor NA at raceweight.

There is a guy running NMCA Nostalgia Pro Street in the old Horsepower TV's project "slow-nova"....I mean "super-nova". He's sponsored by GMPP and is running a nitrous fed big inch LSX engine. That class is capable of mid-low 7's, so we'll see what happens. Should be a good test for the new block.

"It definitely has features that we believe will make it better than the engines we use now," Line said. "But we're not going to debut them until they show us that for a fact. We don't want to do what Warren [Johnson] did and DNQ at a bunch of races while we're trying to figure them out."
Warren Johnson was the first to implement the DRCE III motor. He failed to qualify for five national events in 2006 and finished outside the POWERade top 10 for just the second time in the last 25 years.
