Unless a glide case if differnent then a Th400 case,you don't have to run that cover if you don't want to... if anything there's more air to get to the converter to keep it cool. When I put the th400 in my car a csr carbon shield went on along with a hughes sfi flexplate, so everything was all legal and whatnot... noone ever said a word about a cover for the bottom of the case.

I know I've seen cars at teh track, mine included that have not had the cover and have had no problems. I don't think they are worried it the flexplate explodes and sends frag into the track, more concerned about it ripping your feet off.
