I going to try this again. Something happened to the other thread. (Won't let you view it anymore)

I thought I could save a few pounds by making a tubular crossmember for the T56. The stock one was 8lbs 8oz. The one I made came out to 3lbs and 3oz. I was real happy knocking out over 5lbs.

Nice work! that stocker is a bit of a beast isn't it?
Looks like she'll hold up to some heavy launches.

Money about $10 each. Time is another story. For the first one I had to take a stock crossmember and make a jig. That took a few hours. Then I spent about 6 hours figuring out how I wanted to make it and making it. The one in the picture is the second one I made. It took about 4 hours. Cutting each piece out on a band saw and drilling and slotting all the holes is very time consuming.

I'm still debating if I'm going to sell them or not. I might put this one on Ebay. If it brings a decent price make another one and just go from there. And if it sells to low to be worth my time I will just stop there.

Hey guys this is a very nice piece that Kevin has put together here. He is a good craftsman and cares about what he does. I will be putting one on my girlfriends new project to try and shed a few. He also makes a killer little adj. master cylinder rod end that we use exclusively on our F Bodies to fix up the crappy GM clutch hydraulics. Great work Kevin

Looks awsome. Is where the trans mount bolt going to be tough enough? For say a hard launch or beating the **** out of your car.

Thanks Guys! I sold the one in the picture. So it won't be going on Ebay. I will probably make another one in the next couple of weeks. I will list that one
