Alterators always put out more cold, but as a battery charges the output should go down. The longer it has to provide full output the quicker it will get hot and drop off.

My fuel pump does the same thing at idle and I have two 10ga wires/relays feeding it right off the battery. Big pumps are very sensitive to small voltage changes sound-wise. Just about any electrical change makes the pump change pitch at idle.

I also run a voltblaster for a little extra insurance, at WOT I'm at like 15.5v.

I was having voltage drops at WOT real bad last year. red top optima in a box in the back of the car, 10guage wire and relays feeding twin fuel pumps.
i added a voltblaster and that seemed to have solved it. i think i see like 14.5v or so at WOT using my original stock 98 alternator.

Where can you pick up a voltblaster from? Do they make them for LT1's as well?

Casper electronics on the right, speed inc sells them too I think. I would imagine they make them for LT1 cars. Depends on the alternator and TPS plugs..

Its a good thing to have IMO, one of the better 80.00 I spent on the car

At WOT I'm fine, so at least thats OK. I meant to get a volt blaster from Caspers last year and forgot. Will it change my tune at all, putting more voltage to the FP?

Now to figure out the alky tank....
