I just pulled mine to see what it was like. It can't weigh more than 10lbs. Not worth it IMO. But it does open up the front end for more air. So I am debating making a ram air set-up from the nose or putting it back together.

Just did mine and it felt a lot heavier than that, maybe I'm just a weakling.

^ i dont think thats the sensor. if im not mistaken i think the sensors are up front somewhere and they connect into the thing in the parking brake area then go to the actual airbags

do you have to remove the tail panel to take out the rear bumper support?

If the cover needs to come off then yes. Some times you can get lucky and slip the suppot past the cover.

I thought about doing it but in a street car I realized its not worth the cost and possible leagal issues if someone hit me or I hit someone.....

I can see it now, I hit someone or someone hit me and they get hurt because there was no crash bumper then they notice its a built car and don't say much... then see that the crash protection stuff has been removed..............

Well, I weighed my front @ 18.5 lbs, and rear @ 21.5 lbs... Both now are supported by 1.75" .125 wall aluminum tube,, and 3/16" plate which weigh 5 lbs front, and 4 lbs rear. Better then nothing.... and 31 lbs lighter then stock..
