I don't know if the rules will require it, but I'd get one to protect myself and my car. Just my 2 cents.

Loops are for anything 12.99 or under or using slicks regardless of ET. They should be either 1/4-inch thick and 2-inches wide (aluminum or steel) or 7/8-inch x 0.065-inch welded steel tubing (steel only).

I got tossed for not having one back in 1999 at HRP,
racing my Camaro at one of the Import/Domestic Drag Wars,

After I made 2 passes and beat some guys,
they came and checked my car for a variety of things,
I got booted for no driveshaft safety loop, and no park neutral safety switch.
I think it was a conspiracy though, since I was an old 79 Camaro with a big hole in my hood w/ air cleaner sticking out and a big windshield sticker that said " I EAT IMPORTS" at a 95% import event. Was running 12.50's on ET STREETS.

If you're going to get one, I suggest the Lakewood p/n 18022. Bolts right in, about a 10 minute install.

YUP..Lakewood DS LOOP/TUNNEL BRACE....Just looked also---that is the one for sure. You do not have to drop DS for installation...little screwy trying to do it..after 10 min. I did it though...[much sweat] Hang the loop first-[not quite as easy as it looks...tried all sorts of angles .etc...Can be done though]----then bolt in brace--then bolt loop to brace.

It's a good idea to have one.

What pinks shoot are you gonna be at?

BMR makes a great one, clears aftermarket Y pipe with ease.
