Default 3,540 lbs....

Weighed my car today, 3,540 lbs without a driver. I knew it was bad, but christ. And I gotta put a bigger battery in still, theres ANOTHER 20 lbs. Unreal. If I gutted this thing it would still weigh 3300+. This was with my stock ZR1 style ss rims, so it might be a few lbs lighter with the Pro stars. But I don't even have my door bars in either, so theres another 20 or so lbs. And my exhaust was off! Holy crap! I wanna cry......

My fat *** is just the icing on the cake.

Was that with a full tank? Automatic? Take out the rear seats, belts and spare tire/jack. Should be a fast 100 lb there.

im trying to get my car down to low 3400s or maybe even 3300s with me in it with a 6 point roll bar.

seems like you have an auto, full tank of gas and a mild steel cage

Are you sure the scale was right? Did you put extra stuff in it?

Mine weighed 3580 w/o me and a full tank of gas. I am on a journey to weigh 3200 w/o me pretty soon. And thats only stg 1 of the weight reduction.

That's doable just by pulling stuff, at that point you're going to have to start putting money into it to get more.

I'm sitting at 2920 minus drag brakes, k-member, a arms, no cutting.

Yes, the car is an A4.

Chromoly roll bar (4 point right now).

This was with the rear seats/belts/hardware pulled, no front sway bar, no front or rear bumper supports, no spare or jack, about 7 or 8 gallons of fuel in the cell, lightweight carpet, no exhaust to speak of, fiberglass hood, but otherwise still loaded (A/C, cruise, stock stereo, etc).

The scale is certified, and the car actually weighs what I thought it would.

Aside from the blower/ic/piping, it has an iron block.

I'm real close to just yanking the A/C and heat, and whatever else I can find. But it is a street car, not a race car.

It ran 10.42 at 135 at around 3800 lbs race weight, with a very soft launch (didn't go WOT until late 2nd gear for fear of tire spin). Sucks to think what its capable of with less weight and harder launch. But the power and weight would destroy my 4L60E and 12 bolt posi.

I may also do a chromoly K member and a arms, but don't like what I've heard about drag brakes.

I saw this thread and had to go weigh my car as I have never weighed this one before. It is a 99 Z28, hardtop with cloth interior and stock 16x8 five spokes. The only things I have removed for weight reduction are the rear seats, spare tire & jack, front sway bar, and all of the air conditioning. I have QA1 "R"s up front (supposed to shave 20lbs over stock), a chrome moly torque arm, chrome moly lower control arms, a chrome moly panhard rod, and mild steel boxed subframe connectors. It weighs 3250 with four gallons of 93 octane in it.

I'm seriously considering removing everything and buying another car to drive around for fun. But who am I kidding, it would just end up built too.

Mine was 3250 as well for a formula. I have passenger airbag out, sound deadening out and 17 inch rims. I'd like to see another 100-200 pounds gone from the front of the car.

Thanks! I plan on removing the front bumper support, put on a lightweight hood, lightweight carpet, and these Convo Pros that have been sitting in my room for months.

I daily drive the car and will be long hauling with it on Power Tour so I don't want to strip it down.
