problems with a 12 bolt install
problems with a 12 bolt install We installed a moser 12 bolt in my buddys ta. First off when you hit bumps, theres a loud knock commin from the left wheel area. And the car is not sitting level eaither. He has about a 6'' wheel well gap on the left side and almost tuckin tire on the right side. Everything went back in right, only thing he left out was the upper "panhard bar" but that shouldnt make a differance right? We do rearends all the time and and never had this problem. Any ideas?
One of the guys in my club had the same problem. One of the spring perches on his Moser was welded crooked causing one side to sit lower than the other. He had a chassis shop chop it off and weld it back on in the correct orientation. Problem solved.
Yeah it was some BS. Here's the actual quote from the shop.
as far as what was wrong with rear its, its mostly that the spring brackets are not in the same place so car leans,and the way the lower control arm brackets are welded in there not enough pinion angle built in rear,and even though he has adjustable lower arms,we would,nt be able to get the pinion angle correct.
this is the first.time ive seen this but stuff happens.so next time here we will correct it when we do torque arm :grin2: :grin2: bob

Sounds to me either the spring isnt in its locator and you have something bound up. Check your swaybar also.
