Default Need help picking a tire...

I can not decide what to do for a tire they will be going on a stock 16X8" wheel. My combo is an F13 cam, stock heads, LS6 intake, LT's, UMI chassis mounted TA, LCA's, comp engineering rear shocks, stock springs, stock shocks/springs in front, moser 9" with 4.30's, textralia clutch, stock 17's in front, ~3400 raceweight with me in the car. I was thinking maybe a 28" tall M&H drag radial, or a 26/27" MT ET street, or possibly even a 26" tall drag radial. Will a 28" tall drag radial slow me down? The car trapped 111 last year in ~3000 DA with stock gears, stock LS1 intake, and stock cam at ~3500 lbs bogging out of the hole on 17" nittos. I would prefer to run a drag radial, but will it hook?

27" ET Street will work. I have 26" ET streets with 4.30 gears and I am at 6500 RPMs when I cross the line in 4th. I trap around 117mph though

What is your raceweight? What wheels and tires are you running? I have heard the bias ply on the back and radial on the front (275 in my case) can be a little squirrely....

I ran ET STREETS 26X10.5 i think, there packed in the garage now. They hooked great. No bogging with a good torque converter.

I'd run no tubes unless they move on the rim (a little movement the first few runs isn't uncommon) or this car will be in the 10s or quicker. Some have the opinion of running tubes, but I don't and have done okay.

I ran the car last night on the 17" nittos and trapped 118.6 bogging. 27 or 28" bias ply?
