My first time at the track ever resulted in a 13.6@105 in my 99 T/A
Then I got my '01 formula and started off running (minor bolt ons) a 13.6 @ 106. Without changing a thing, by the end of the year I ran a 12.81@109.
Now, in the vette I ran a 13.0@110. I'll be going faster this year!

LOL, I like this thread. It's funny to see how slow people start off. My very first 1/4 mile pass was in my '85.5 944 Porsche non-turbo that I got for my 16th birthday. Haha, it ran like mid to high 16's. Then went to my Z with a stock 13.7 @ 103.

I've never raced any car other then the one in my sig. My first ever track run was at Rt. 66 Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. I went with a couple of friends who were both watching me make my first ever pass and betting on how far in the 14's I would be. I was totally stock and running on BFG KDWS all weather tires.
I was lined up with a LS1 Z28. I was nervous and had no idea what I was doing. I had read that you should go on the third yellow but I had no idea how fast the yellow lights count down to green. Needless to say the light went green, the Camaro launched and I was like "oh ****! Lets go".
I went about 3/4 throttle at the launch itself and pushed into a full throttle. It was mere luck that I even had a decent launch. I was a car length behind the Camaro the whole way down the track and he pulled a little more on me the second half of the run. When it was all said and done I was looking at my first time slip:
13.5 @ 103 with a 2.08 60' (the Camaro ran 13.1 @ 106 I believe)
Both my friends shook my hand and were shocked on how well I did. I made two more passes that night. The second pass I tried going full throttle right out of the gate and I spun like a ****. The last pass I went too light on the throttle out of the gate and killed my 60'. Both runs were in the 14's

When I was 16 I started in my 17 second 84 Toyota truck. Then I got my Firebird, it started at a 16.05 stock and I got it down to a 12.48. Then I started driving our race-car and ran 8.6's and 8.7's. The last change was an eye opener for sure.

I went from 13.70's to 12.40's with my old LT1 car.. Then got a mid-low 12 sec LS1 car, but only raced it 1/8th mile. So when I built my current car my first 1/4 mile pass was a 10.22 with my previous fastest time being 12.40's... Shooting for mid 9's next time out!

i started at high 13's in my old 1999 Z-28. bolt ons, gear, drag radial went mid 12's, new motor and trans went 11.60, took some weight out and added skinnies it went 11.20s.
now i'm back in the high 12's on a clean pass with my "new" car. =(

My first was a 14.8 in my GMC 1500 with a 4.8 cammed. My DD.
In the T/A - 13.3 -> 12.90 -> 12.20 -> 11.80. I personally feel that you should start from the ground up. Now my 11.80 feels like my 14.8!!! I'll never forget the feeling of pulling the fronts up an inch though! Pricesless! Now, my new setup......

.
Cool thread.
I ran a 16.92 in my slow car. Many many years ago. Used to drive it up to the grove. Ended up running 8.50's, same size tire (29 X 10).
Trust me, I would never have bought the Pro-Mod until I had plenty of experience in my slow car.
