Default Jaz Vs Kirkey seat

Well it's finally time to ditch the Corbeaus and i'm stuck between the two. I have had a lot of people tell me kirkey and vice versa. I want a seat that can be swiss cheesed with around 20` of layback for my semi-street car.

I am 6'3 , 185 lbs.

What's everyone running?

If you vote, post your:
height/weight
Type of seat
Pros/Cons of it.

I have used both and prefer the JAZ. I am 6ft 160lbs, and there was plenty of room for me in it. It is plastic, so you really don't need to swiss cheese it, but you could if you wanted to as they make covers for them as well.

Jaz also has an aluminum seat. They fit the F-bodies better and look alot nicer.

I wish someone offered a fully finished/swiss cheesed/floor bracket setup drag seat...

Can someone enlighten me on the meaning of "swiss cheesed"?

If you are 6'3 whatever aluminum seat you get will probably be bolted right to the floor.

haha your dumb if you swiss cheese an already light seat... It means cutting out holes everywhere in the seat that weighs nothing to begin with. If you need weight that bad, you need more power.

I guess a lot of people are dumb then. I have tons of pictures of people's cars with swiss cheesed seats.

Is the Jaz aluminum seat low back?

The Jaz is a high back but not as tall as a Kirkey.

Swiss cheesing a seat will get about 4 lbs out of it.

I tried to find someone local with jaz seats that I could try to sit in.. noone had them so I went with a kirkey 41700 pro street seat. They are very comfortable, and bolted to the floor. I'm 6"3, 275 lbs, and I fit in the 17 in. wide one no problem. You being a tall skinny guy you may want the 16 or 15 in. size.

And you will want to bolt them directly to the floor, and you'll love the added head room you'll have. Just don't try to run a big cowl hood, you won't be able to see very well.

i got a pro street drag kirkey, im 6'2 190 and its very comfortable. i didnt like the egg shape of the jazz ones, i prefer a more soild feel around my hips. as madman stated jazz makes a shorter back alum one instead of chopping your kirkey like most people do, but when im sitting in my kirkey my head is level with the top.

my kirkey's are probably 4 inches from the head liner... I can't imagine anyone needing a seat bracket tell enough so that would be a problem... but I'm assuming if there's been a problem, then someone must have....

I run the kirky's, 17" wide, w/ padded covers. I'm 6 ft 185 lbs. I bolted mine to the stock seat mounts... worked good.

Just installed a 16" pro street Kirkey in my car with padded cover. I'm 6' 190lbs. I think it is very comfortable.
