th400 Swap Q's please help!

Default th400 Swap Q's please help!

I put this in the AUto trans forum but no one responded, I am trying to race today btu I dont know if its smart. I just did a th400 swap and itsnot yet tuned, what could happen?

Car was an A4 what will happen if you try and race it withthe th400 but not tuned for the th400?
pull timing?

i never got my car tuned for a th400 and the car went even faster. its not a big deal at all. this is assuming you had a properly tuned a4 combo (rev limitors, etc)

The only problem I had was that when I lost the VSS signal it defaulted to a 6200 rpm rev limiter.

well the car went out tonite and ran decent, it improved 3 tenths from last year..Still slower than what we think/hope it would run.
The car went 12.0@111
full BMR 12 bolt 430 gear th400 w/brake 4000 converter
224-235 581-595 on a 114 cam, headers true duels...
BUT I dont know how much of a diff this makes, no rear o2's the guy who made the exhaust didnt put them in, and they werent tuned out before and it hasnt been retuned yet.
So how big of a difference would that make?
Car goes to Speed on the 7th so hopefully Jim cant make some hp with that thing and we can go a lil faster before we make any more changes.

front O2s are the only ones tha tmake a difference. what is your 60' time? dyno? raceweight? 12.0 @ 111 sounds pretty decent to me for cam only .

its a heavier car, completely full weight plus cage, plus 12 bolt, plus 400 so its heavy..
no dyno numbers yet, best 60 of the night was low 1.6 I believe.. We are still adjusting the chassis to get it perfect, we went on a street race night so we didnt get much T&T in..

throw a ls6 intake on before tunning... and get that converter loosened.

car is very pretty tho.

Engine, cam-only? Your stall is way low. Need a more like 5000 stall - if you are never going to run nitrous. You are not in your power band launching at 4000. I'd wait until you get it tuned and dyno'd to find out your power. I ran a 4800 stall on engine (heads/cam) before going lower (4200) on nitrous. Speed will do you right.

Engine is cam only, I believe it supposedly has "ported heads" im not sure if it does or not.
Haider I believe we are going to try and do an Intake and throttle body before we tune it hopefully.
And the only reason we went 4000 stall and not larger is because he does drive it on the street quite a bit still, and I didnt wanna completely kill the streetability.
thanks for the compliments haider and big bill, i'll try and get pictures up of it this week from the track last night. the car does look good, even if it is on the slower side right now.

Did you have the Cameleon Paint Firehawk? Really nice looking car if it is? I had the white formula parked behind you. My time against you was 10.41@129 on a 1.40 60' runing on motor. I have a Neal Chance Nitrous converter, 4800 stall if that helps. Sorry we couldn't help you with the codes you had. It was nice talking with you.

i ran a ATI 5500 converter that went up to 5k on the brake... it was very tight on the street and drove it all the time.

if you guys are looking to go fast with it, pull that cam out and sell it and put in a big cam... intake tune it and have the converter loosened to about 5k and i'll bet that car goes low 11's if not faster. WITHOUT HEADS

Im not the owner who came up to talk to you, im the big guy who was with him.
Haider I think we might do that, Im gunna have him look for an ls6 intake and I might persuade him into getting a bigger stick in the thing and see what it does.
We have a Coan 4000 in the thing, if it doesnt losen up a little more when we put the bigger stick in it Ill send it out and make it like a 4500-4800...
He also wants to spray the thing too.
