Default What size tires are you runnin? M6 guys

I have 26 x 10 M/T Slicks now but when I spray I'm having to shift into 5th gear before the end of the track. I have 4.10 gears and have the opportunity to get some 28 x 11.50 Hoosier QTP's and wanted to know if this would be right for my setup. Also would there be any clearance issues? Would it hurt my power on motor? BTW I'm running Weld 15x10 Prostars

Thanks

Hummer

Play with this and see what you can figure out, are you barely having to shift into 5th or what? We would need more info on your setup to actually give advice

Thanks for the link.

I have a full bolt on car with a TR 224/563 cam, the car is full weight nothing other than the sway bar has been removed. I just installed 12 way QA1's all the way arounnd, and when I do spray I spray a 125 wet shot.

Don't go down in gears, go up in tires. You may need to do some "mods" to the fender wells - the BFH - works well. Unless you get a heck of a deal on the Quick TP, I'd look at the newer M/T DR first.

Will the 28" fit? With some help from you and depending on your B/S of the Welds. Will they hurt your ET NA, shouldn't very possible will help, as you will not have to be shifting into 5th and you possibly could launch harder.

If you do go with the 28's let me know how they work out. When you come up to RRR you should let me try em out

M/T 28x10.5 15 ET Drag [Stiff Sidewall]

Everyone on here said to get the stiff sidewall because my car is 3300lbs and a stick, maybe so, but I think I was able to hook better on the regular sidewall tires. For my next set, im going back to them.

They went on pretty easy, just had to take a hammer to the bottom of the wheel well next to the front LCA mount and thats about it. We cut off the plastic on the rear bumper that was inside the fender, but after seeing the car on the dyno, I realized we did not need to do that.

Hey man, will you be there the 12th? I plan on going up there for the LS1 Tech race this saturday. I'll Hopefully have the 28's on there then. I have to go to my buddies house in Greenwood, pull the 26's then run and have the 28's mounted, peform the BFH mod wherever applicable, and hopefully make it up to RRR by 3. Just look for me, I'll be pulling my car on a gooseneck open car hauler with a red dodge 1 ton.

LOL, I know what you mean. I have had 28's on my car before and I'm pretty sure they should fit without too much more beating or grinding.

Thanks!
The backspacing I'm running now is 7.5 on a 10" prostar, I actually have put 28's on it before but they were 28x10's and on a 8" wheel with a 4" BS (very redneck looking) It never cut or grooved the tires either.

I'll be there. I'll have my Z on a trailer behind a green Silverado. I always park by the fence just past the 1/8th mile. My car goes to the chassis shop tomorrow for a cage install and is scheduled to be done Friday morning.

I'll introduce myself if I see you. Hope your cage install goes smoothly.

the NA times might be down since if you dont have the power to turn them without the nitrous.

I was hoping not, but I know it would only make sense.

why are you going to 5th? I spray my 26 inch tall 4.30 gears to 6900 and 124 mph. You should be able to go over 128 or so , what mph are you running on the gas?

The only thing I can figure is different weight and different cam. I have a 224/563 on a 112, your sig shows a different lift than mine.

Is that 11.7 on the bottle or cam only?

If you're talking to me that's on the sauce, it runs 12.0 @ 115 on motor only. I have since got the skinnies and wheels that fit my slicks and the car picked up a 10th in the 1/8th but it was raining that day and half of the track was shut down. I just got Qa1'S all around, and moved my nitrous window from 6000 to 6300 because it felt like it was cutting off way too soon. Cant wait to try everything out this way.
