I cut my bumpstops a while ago when I had Pro Stars. I also BFH'd the front upper part of the body where the tires can rub. It's the same spot you have to BFH on a 5.0 Stang.

I am running 8 ply Sportman DOT's since my car is kinda heavy. I have 4 plys for the Pinks Camaro since it's 400 lbs lighter.

You can stuff a lot of tire under 3rd gens.

Thanks Seb, my old 98SS is now owned by a guy in Schaumburg.

A local guy had them under his Pontiac. I think he's selling them to go full boot.

Anything fits with the right tools. I put a 28x10.5W on a 9.75 Bogart under my car a year or so back w/o minitubbing it or going w/ a narrow rear.

alright well I just wanted to make sure that a 325/50 would fit, I don't mind doing some more pounding if necessary but won't have time to do mini-tubs this year.

325-50-15 is wider than a 28x10.5 slick, basically as wide as a 28x11.5 ET Drag.

i just don't know if I want to go with 5.5bs and have the tire stick out a bit or go with a 15x10 with 6.5bs and hope I can open up the wheelhousing a little more or get away with a 1/4" spacer. I have cut the bumpstops off and welded in flat steel, and have offset LCAs along with beating the front lower section of the wheelwell also.

Are you on any of the bigger 3rd gen boards? I know he's GTA91 on Team3rdGen. I'm pretty sure he didn't tub the car to get them in.

I can PM you his e-mail if you want to ask him about it. He ran a 10" Pro Star w/ a 7.5" bs

unless he was running a 4th gen rear I can't picture that rim fitting ever on a thirdgen. Most people run a 5.5bs on a thirdgen, and I've "heard" a 6.5" bs once with a 1/4" spacer but no pics to back it up. If you could link me to him, etc that would be great.

I just talked with him tonight. He is running a 4th-gen width rear. He had to do a lot of beating (as would be expected), but no mini-tub. His e-mail is heizemen80@hotmail.com He said he'd be more than happy to help.

I know I've had 3rd gen Camaro friends run 28x10.5's without major clearancing... You can get there. For a stock length 3rd gen rear, you would run more like a 15x10/6.5 or 15x10/6.0 backspacing, just have to research it on places like www.thirdgen.org.

I've been on thirdgen for years and no one runs drag radials on that site in that size. Or if they do they never reply to my threads. Typically it turns into a quick talk about slicks being better right away. The accepted size everyone quotes is 15x10 with 5.5bs which leaves the tire sticking out a little like cars from the 80s had them outside the wheelwell. I'd like to see if there is more room inside the housing to tuck in the rim some more. 1/2" or 3/4" would have it closer to where I'd like to see a tire on this vehicle.

Well the 325-50-15 is like a 28W/ 28x11.5/ 28x13.5 et street.... they are all about the same size.

Thanks John, I'll have to borrow a buddies 28W tires and just space them out 1" since he has them on his 4th with 7.5bs and see how it looks.

Sweet.

Question: 325/50/15 - the 50 is the sidewall in mm, correct? Then how does your tire seem so much taller than my Nittos with 45mm sidewall?

The second number is a percentage of the first number. So the sidewall is 50% of 325mm. Thats why they look so much taller, the sidewall is roughly 163mm.
