Default Rotating mass weight savings questions ?

I currently have a chrome moly drive shaft and I do not have gun drilled axles or star holes on my Ford 9" 35 spline axles. I do have a lightened 4.56 gear.

What do you think I would gain with gun drilled and star holed axles and lets say a carbon fiber or aluminum drive shaft ? Would it be worth it?

Both would help some, but sure that you would gain all that much. With your power, I'm sure that you would gain some. IMO the gun-drill axles would help the most - in both strength and weight. The drive-shaft being the easiest to do.

The rotational moment of inertia is far less than say a wheel/tire combo.

But it will help none the less.
