When I arrive back here in 1967, after three tours, I had no fears. I even got married. But after requiring my wife to bail my dumb *** out of jail, twice for street racing, she lost all interest and never supported my racing.
Next year will have been married for 40 years. Cars can be replaced good women are worth keeping.

Sorry not to see any new replies. Someone wanted to thank the faithful who week after week go out in the first or second rounds. I'll drink to that tomorrow.
We would often go to tracks where they were running for double points or money. I would like to think we might be a little responsible for BUY BACKS. Our goal was to find the leaders in a class and race them hoping to knock their *** off. Normally the first five drivers in any class have raced each other so many times they know what both cars can run. When you throw a car at them they have never see it's a drivers race. When you trailer a track champion in the first round your head gets real big.

I'm just 18 now, but entered my first points race 6 days after I got my drivers license when I was 16. Just graduated high school a month ago...everytime friends asked me to go do something with them on the weekends, I had to turn it down because I wanted to be at the track. I missed my proms because they were on a Saturday. Left graduation early because the gates opened 3 hours earlier then they usually did and I had to be there. Friends dont even ask me to do anything on the weekends anymore because they know I wont be around...but I love every minute of it, and wouldnt change it if I could. Like madman said, it's a life, not a hobby.
