M6 Launch RPM with a 9"

my new (to me) 98 M6 is going to the track this weekend for the first time what should i launch it at i got M/T drag radials 255/50 and a ford 9" with 4.30s and 31 splines i figure the rear will take any abuse that drag radials will hold the car has a LS7 clutch stock i assume let me know what you guys think hopefully monday i will have the 11 sec club tag

experiment...leave at say 5500 and if it sticks bump it up, if it doesnt drop the rpm a bit...you have to play with it there is no magic rpm that we can tell you to leave at its all dependent on how you slip the clutch, and your susp. setup.

The higher it holds and hooks, the better. Some tracks will take more than others, so some experimentation may happen.

Drag radial and stick is going to take a little more work than say a ET/drag or street. Use as much RPM as you can get away with. You also might be better off with trying to slip the clutch a bit rather than straight dropping it. Although that's not going to be the best for your clutch.

you'll be looking for a new clutch soon. just kinda play with it and see what the car likes. 4500-6500 some cars like more, some less. it takes some guess work at first but you'll get the hang.
