Default Can I remove the upper panhard rod support?

I'm installing a new 9" rear end and wondering if I can remove the upper panhard rod support? This will be a drag car only. Has anyone else removed it? BTY, the car is a 94 Camaro.

Thanks

You can remove it if you reinforce the lower panhard bar mount on the passenger side.

yes, I removed mine over 2 yr ago. I moved my panhard up into the brace hole to make it level again, because the car is lowered.

Thanks for the replies. I have a wolfe moly adjustable panhard bar will that be enough reinforcement? Or do I need to weld a gusset inside were the upper bar bolted in?

You should be fine. I removed mine a couple years ago when I put my BMR adj. rod in. I drove the car daily for a while and had zero issues!

I welded the seams and added gusset supports to it. I think you are playing with fire if you do not make sure that bracket is strong.

Thanks! I think what you are talking about is good insurance and that does not seem like its to hard to do.

I just took mine out about 2 years ago and haven't had any problems.. but I don't street drive the car much anymore.... if you drive it alot on the street I'd probably leave it in, or reinforce it some.
