Default Will 3.90 gears net higher trap speeds in an M6 than 3.42?

I would assume yes, but roughly how much? 2mph?
Debating on either 3.90 or 4.10 and was wondering roughly how much ET/MPh it would give me.

I say no.
I didnt really gain any mph when I went from 3:42s to 4:10s but the car ET'd alot better and is much more fun to drive.

I went from roughly 89mph in the 1/8 with 3.42's, to 85mph with 4.10's. I gained almost 4/10ths tho!

So there would be a disadvantage from say a 45mph roll with 4.10's as opposed to 3.42's?

Your mph should stay about the same but you should improve your ET.

when i was SI i didnt gain mph but dropped 2/10ths

since going to a bigger cam, fast 90/90 and going to a MN12 tranny i gained 5mph.

now when i roll race i start in 3rd and finish in 4th its perfect now.

The deeper the gears the less your top speed is going to be! But better the Acceleration! i run 4.88 in my truck because it is heavy and gets it moving, but i only use it for 1/4 mile so top speed doesnt really matter to me.you have a lighter car i would think i dont know how much they weigh.so i would say 3.90 would be a good all around gear.

I understand that, BUT, with that being said, then MPH should go up as well "1/4 mile speaking" correct?

Yes it should the deeper the gear the higher it revs which should increase E/T and your mph should go....i stilll say 3.90's would be the best bet IMO
