Default What would happen if?

I did a nine second pass with no safety gear whatsoever? Can you be banned for life from a track?

theyd tell you to get the appropriate items and until you did you would not be allowed to race again. simple as that heck you gotta make a pass so you know what you run they know that, they just dont know that you already know lol i seriously hope you dont plan on doing that though that is an fatality waiting to happen- hope i spelled that right

I hope you don't seriously think that the first pass you make will be a 9 second pass... unless you already have the car sorted out at a track that was dumb enough to let you run it enough to get it sorted out to 9 second speed with no safety gear and are now taking a trip to a different track.....

Note: I see it's a stick car, that being said it's not gonna run a 9 off the trailer, and you'll get the boot for going faster then 11.5 with no safety gear.

Why you would want to have a 9 second capable car without the safety gear is beyond me, and most racers for that matter, if you want to kill yourself go get a gun, it's alot less hassle

I say if its full weight then 10.6-10.8. But you'll get kicked off definately. I have a friend at one time wasn't legal. He'd make a few test runs then the last pass would go full bore. They'd kick him off and he would wait 2 months or until they forgot about what his car looks like. -Mark

I got booted for my 10.91 @131 on the 315 Comp TA DRs last time out. Gotta make a run for it to see what it has. Now I am in the middle of the manual aerospace brake setup, MT 325/50/15, and 10pt cage install. I figure it is time to get the car up to date on the saftey equipment. It's not worth the risk.

Some tracks have a special days just for street racers. I know of two (or one in a couple of weeks) drag strips that offer this. All they require is a driver's license, current registration, and valid insurance ... you sign a waiver and can click off as many sub 11.99 second passes as you like. Some even have passengers, no one with a helmet, let alone a roll bar/cage. Typically time slips are not posted/annouced. It is meant to combat illegal street racing by allowing them to race on a track, without endangering other motorist/by-standers.

i've got a buddy with an 8 sec car with just a 6 point. no window net parachute nothing. we went 5.70 at 121 shut it off and coasted to a 9.56 at 128 and were told they didn't care what the 1/8 was but it went 9's so we were gone. and don't come back to the car was legal.

Beech Bend in Bowling Green KY has a Tuesday night Test 'N' Tune. Pretty much an open ET kinda deal.

I got booted on the regular Saturday night event.

Porting the heads and adding a 200 shot soon. I just dont wanna ruin the look of the car. But I guess I am gonna have to start investing in safety equipment.

On our side of the coast, it would be LVMS on Friday nights. It is called Midnight Mayhem. LACR started doing something like this, but called Street Racer night ... but LACR is closing now.

As you can tell, many tracks have a street racer night, sometimes called Midnight Mayhem.
