Default how to cool down car between runs??

I'm going to the track tomorrow and its supposed to be 84 degrees. What tips to you guys have for cooling down your cars between runs, and while waiting in line to make a pass. I usually just have the heat on full blast in line and the hood up when parked. I'm sure you guys have some better methods. Thanks!!

That's about the best method that you can do really, if you have a stock size battery and an electric water pump you can turn that on and leave the radiator fans on if you have a fan switch along with the pump... I know that works well, but be careful not to kill the battery

Don't try this with a small lightweight battery, I did it in the staging lanes for only about 5 minutes and had to get the jumper box out...

What I do now between runs is nose in under a canopy, pop the hood, run a charger off of my truck with a power inverter to keep the battery power up, and run the fans and water pump for about 30 minutes. That seems to work pretty good, other guys also use fans, like the big ones for drying out carpet and have that blow through the radiator too, but those are the 9 second N/A guys...

*** EDIT ***
Something like these work too, these are Ron (red) and Larry (blue) Rhodes, Ron runs 9.teens in our N/A Drag Radial class, and Larry is mid 8's in our N/A 10.5 class, and yes they both have leaf blowers blowing under the car...

Larry - http://www.gallery.smithspeed.com/di...bum=20&pos=186

Here is another one with the big fan blowing on the motor - http://www.gallery.smithspeed.com/di...bum=20&pos=221

I do the small battery and elec water pump for about 3 mins then put ice on the intake and coolant tube. When the car starts it starts a little slow but after I make my pass its charged back up. -Mark

I see some guys that take one of those sprayers for garden chemicals that you pump up. They put water in it and spray it in the radiator. I have never tried it and don't know if its ok to do.

water in an electric fan would probably not be a good idea IMO, that's kinda asking for electircal problems eventually.

Very true. I use towels to make sure it doesn't drip. But the EWP cools the car 10x more than ice could ever do. I make just ditch the ice. -Mark

With your car being pretty much stock, I don't think you really have to concern yourself too much with heat-soak. I've hot-lapped my car plenty, and heat-soak doesn't seem to be much of an issue. At one of the MFBA track rentals, I made over 30 passes, and the car never slowed down - it would acually get a tiny bit faster every pass. I love the LS1 - any car I had before this would need a cool-down period between runs, otherwise it'd be slowing down.
