Default Picking front shocks and springs

What is the correct way to go about picking springs? My car weighs 3300#'s with me in it. What would be the best shocks to use? This is a 99% strip car.

Most things I found say 275-300# springs for a drag race setup, I'm getting 275# springs and my car is 3190# with me in it...

I would try the car with stock springs on it first. as for shocks, if ya have the $ go for the afco's, or strange. QA1's are what alot of people on this board run including myself, and they are a TON better then stock, and are pretty good $ wise.

275 springs are for cars approaching or at 3000 lbs. You will probably want double adjustable QA1.

The doubles were designed on the R shaft and body. There isnt enough room to put a proper valve in there. Plus they leak twice as fast as the regular ones. If you are going to spend the money on a double then step up and buy Strange Or AFCO.

What would the spring rate be on a stock spring? I'm trying to under stand how the spring rate is determined. What exactly does the 275lbs rating of a spring mean? Lol, maybe this is way over my head.
I have been running my car for years on full stock suspension thinking that suspension parts were a waste, then I changed the tq arm, installed some LCA relocation brackets and after one pass with'em I realized how much I need to work on the complete suspension setup
