You could remove the heater core, but all the ducts and the blower motor would have to stay. I would say IMO it would not be worth the hassle.

There would be slight weight reduction, but I'm not sure how much. The majority in heat/AC delete is from the AC parts and the blower motor.

hmm..how hard is it to remove the heater core? the weight reduction lsit says it weighs 9lbs..so if its not that hard I would love to lose 9lbs off the front end.

if ya are gonna remove the heat, the ac has to go too... or you can just remove the a/c parts and leave it that way. there's no way to really take the heat out and leave the air in.

my advise, either leave it all, or take it all out... just know you wil lhave to break the heater box in order to get it out unless you have the engine out, because there are bolts you have to get to from the engine bay that the motor is in the way of. So it's one of those things once you do it there's no turning back really.

i got it out without really breaking anything, a few small pieces but it could have easily been done without breaking something...

the only downside now is that its HOT inside the car from nothing holding the heat back from the firewall.

I even took the rubber mat off the firewall when I ripped it all out... it certainly made the interior loud, but I hven't noticed any additional heat, other then when the fans kick on and it blows air thru the hole where the M6 mater cyl went thru the firewall LOL.
