Went by the paint shop today and the car is coming along nicely. The engine bay has two coats of chassis black and the outside has been primed and blocked. Got a couple things in the mail....
Lightweight drag brakes from the boys over @ Burkhart Chassis
Same 4 pistons calipers
ATI superdamper with drive for dry sump
Jet Hot got all the hot parts back, 2000 degree black
BS3 converted to run Racepak

Phil,
Has your chassis inspector ok'd how you have the shoulder harness laid over the funny car cage bars and bolted down below on the main hoop cross bar? I was considering doing the same thing due to clearance and wasn't sure if it'd be legal since the NHRA rules only address bolting them in 0" to 4" below the top of the shoulders.
Looking great though!

Lil motor in progress
Finally got the Mickey Thompson 325s mounted/screwed/balanced
New weld center caps since no one makes an aluminum hat for the 00 Mustangs, still need to hit them with the polisher

Today was filled with headaches. Went to my dads house and finished blocking the car. He is going to hit the last couple spots tomorrow and get ready to shoot color/clear on the car so we can get it back this way to work on the dry sump(Major headache). I started mocking up the engine for the dry sump and MAN WHAT A HEADACHE. Everything that I orginally mocked up for fuel pump/alternator are now junk. I'm probably going to have to get a new motor plate and start over. There is a good chance I may have to junk the downpipe and reroute it somewhere else. I'd love to just turn it 90 degress and run it out of the engine bay which would eliminate alot of headaches but it needs to run past the back of the drivers door. Basically:
- Dry sump took place of the alternator
- Alternator now has no place to mount
- Dry sump is too low, raising it up to get clearance on the bottom creates clearance issues on the top
- Fuel pump won't fit because it is in the dry sump belt path, brackets really don't work now
- No good place to mount the dry sump tank either
Hopefully I'll come up with something tomorrow
