Default Removing burn-out rubber from wheel-well quarter panel? How?

Good evening.

What do you guys use to get rid of that burnt rubber that gets stuck on the inner part of the back panels in the wheel well from doing burn-outs at the track?

I tried the bug remover stuff and it doesn't work.

Thank you in advance.

Take he tire off, put a hat on and start rubbing with your fingers, its a dirty job for sure. I do it twice a year and get about 10lbs of rubber every time, I love the racing but I hate the rubber bits

Spray them with Pam before you race, then just rinse when you are done. It works pretty well.

Yep. I put a mechanic glove on my hand and start to go to town. Be sure to do it in the grass and not in your garage or driveway. Made that mistake once and for the longest time I kept tracking small pieces of rubber into my house. Wife was pissed. lol.

Elbow Grease. It works wonders.

Spraying Pam on it, that was funny. Reminded me of the porch scene in Joe Dirt----"You're gonna wanna spray this whole porch down with Pam so this don't happen again".

Laugh all you want, it works. People have been doing it for a while. As well as WD40, silicone, etc. It sounds weird, but I have done it. I just wax the s**t out of the paint so it doesnt stick, and then use non-stick in the wells. Then non stick is safe for the paint also, but requires cleanup.

I use Geddex burnout guard before I go to the track. Spray it on with the spray bottle, then spray it off when ya get home. Works like a charm.

I think the original post is about getting the rubber out of the inner wheelwells. Not the painted part but I could be wrong. If you are talking about the painted parts scraping it off with a gloved hand is probably a bad idea

WD-40 on the painted area works great.

I use aerosol spray tire dressing on the painted parts before I go to the track, everything wipes right off.

I've used lighter fluid as well and it pulls it off pretty well.

WD40 takes it off pretty well when you are done, best to spray something on there before you go to the track though.

Prep Sol! Once you guys use Prep Sol you'll never use anything else again!

It melts the rubber off without even touching it!

never heard of prep sol..... where do you get that, and is removing rubber what it's made for or does it just so happen to work really well for that?

Body shops use it to prep cars, so auto supply places will have it. Similar to mineral spirits. Main problem is that it removes all the wax also, so you have to re wax the car in that area. It works great for bug and tar also.

intresting. I'll have to look into that, not to do after every trip I go to the track, but once a year at the end of the season when the car gets a 100% cleanup.
