burnout, in 1st or 2nd?

burnout, in 1st or 2nd? I have a 12-bolt with 4.10's (M6) and am using et streets I've heard of doing a burnout in 2nd but haven't tried it yet. I've been doing it in 1st and seems to be working out, would 2nd be better?

Re: burnout, in 1st or 2nd? I hope you have a line lock, if so then yes of corse 2nd or maybee even 3rd gear burnouts, because at the same rpm as first your tire will be spinning much faster thus heating up much more and much quicker!

Re: burnout, in 1st or 2nd? i'm going to try a 3rd gear burnout the next time I hit the track .. i've been doing them in 2nd. 3rd gear will give me some real smokey burnouts for sure

Re: burnout, in 1st or 2nd? I saw a guy doing a burnout in REVERSE the other day at the track.... but he was running a street tire.... I imagine a burnout in reverse with an et street or slick would probably damage the tire.
