PA light weight spindles?
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
pa and racecraft make lightweight spindles....pa ones arent that great? aje arent that great?
nobody makes non drop spindles or only 1 inch drop? they are all 2 inch drop?
these spindles require 1st/3rd/4th gen brakes? can you use stock uppers and lowers with the light spindles?
i read these spindles are 6.5 per side for umi, what about racecraft and whats the stock spindle weigh?

The facts first. The PA spindle is 6.5 lbs advertised ea, I actually weighed my spindle mounts at 6.3 lbs ea. According to Racecraft, their's are 10.8 lbs ea. but are coming out with a lighter spindle mount version. Burkhart is also coming out with a chromoly spindle. My stock cut front spindle with the strange 4th gen hub on it was 14.8 lbs or so each. I will comment on the PA stuff as I have their front-end. Quality is very nice. I ran their mild steel k-member for years with no problems. The new stuff went together well and is as light as you can get. The new k-member was 15lbs.
Back to spindles. Obviously the Racecraft are stronger and heavier. That doesn't make the PA spindles junk. Some influential people here don't like the AJE stuff because of an incidence of poor geometry and partially because it isn't stock suspension. That last part is my opinion.
I think PA has stock height (non drop) spindles as I'm sure others do. My spindles use the 67-69 strange spindle, thus 1st gen strange brakes. I bet the regular spindle would use 3rd gen brakes but I don't know. I'm sure it's in this post. And you mentioned UMI, they shouldn't be in this conversation. They always come out with products after the other guys.
I'm not directing this towards you but I can't tell you how often people around here that are in the business scratch each others backs and promote each other's products and make the others out to be trash.
