Wheel Balance & Launching

I have a set of weld 15x10 prostars and have an issue with the wheel balancing weights. I did some large burnouts the other day and realized some seemed to fly off. How do most of you keep them on the rim, and also- will running my car with the wheels unbalanced affect my launch or run at the track?

I dont balance mine either. I figured since a slick changes shape going down the track it makes balancing pointless, I could be wrong though.

Unbalanced wheels are going to cause you trouble at high speeds, I would think
that they would also cause issues during a burnout.

Call me ****, but I keep mine balanced for cheap insurance.

Interesting point. Ive never thought of that and wonder if its correct.

Mine aren't balanced, no point with a slick.

With a radial i would just have them use the tape on the inside of the wheel

Use the stick on weights on the inside of the rim. Some people glue on the little weights so they won't come off vs. the two sided tape.

I've seen people use stick on weights, along with putting duct tape on top. FWIW, I never balance the rear tires. Once you do a burnout, and a few launches, they are gonna get out of balance.

I have never -- never -- wasted my money on balancing my slicks or DR. I have never had a problem.
