Advice on stopping the squat in G-body
My buddy's 1984 Monte carlo ss pretty much dead hooks off the line but i have noticed that the car squats real hard. From what i hear on here thats wasted power right there. So i was just wondering what mods can we to to stop the squat on his suspension style. The car 60fts 1.7-1.8 all day on MT drag radials. Car has 90/10 shocks up front 50/50 rear and a 2800 stall no rear say bar and the front is still on for some reason?I think it was like that when he bought it and just never bothered him enough to fix it. Any advice on how to stop the squat? Thanks

A drag car should always have some type of rear sway/ anti roll bar.
Maybe stiffen the shock in the rear, but if you say it is 50/50, I am guessing it is a 3 way adjustable so you can't make it stiffer if it is.
The spring rate might be too low in the rear also.
Get a control arm relocation kit and move the lower control arm down where it mounts on the rear end I found this set on UMI.

If it is squatting only towards the right rear, probably just needs a anti roll bar/ sway bar.
Start with the sway/anti roll bar if that doesn't completely solve it go with one or both of the relocation kits.
You'll need a sway/anti roll bar either way.
There are other types/styles of the same kits so look around.
