Default 275/40-17 or 305/35-18 Drag Radial

2001 Corvette Coupe

Just hit up a tire size comparison calculator, need your guy's expert advice.

275/40-17 or 305/35-18 in a Nitto 555R Drag Radial.

What exactly are you asking?

Will they both fit? Yes

Are they good street tires? Yes (on dry pavement)

You'll probably run faster with the 275 17's because not only will they weigh less to start because of their width but they will also generate less rotating mass because the are not as tall. Plus they'll have more sidewall flex.

I would use a mickey thompson or hoosier drag radial for track days because it is a better tire.

go with a smaller wheel.... buy some 15 inch or 16 inch wheels...and if it is for track use only go with a M/T Et Street radial
