No I sold that stuff It actually went 141.85 at 3451 pds with the 6 speed. I always thought it would run 9.30's or 40's with that mph and a Jerico ,but never got there.

I was down at a divisional race in Kentucky and there was this SICK T/A there, not sure what class or if he was still EFI. Every single pass would absolutely plant the wheelie bars and run high 6.70's not far from the bumper. I would love to run stock but I like speed and I don't hit as many divisionals as we used to because of the costs involved.

Gizmo,
A slow car does not use up parts but a fast one does. Very tough on valve train parts. Cam lobes are almost square because of having to run factory lift. We have to use stock rockers. There are some things this that need to be done in the valvetrain to keep the pushrods from beating up on the rockers. On our LT1 we used to put a pushrod through a rocker on a pretty regular basis until we got it all figured out. Anything that produces 1.45 hp per cubic inch with no head or manifold porting and a factory lift cam is pushing pretty hard. 200 metric transmissions and converters are also areas that cause issues from time to time. You have to hook it hard all of the time or you are slow and inconsistant. You need to inspect the gears in the 12 bolt for cracks too.
The short of it,
Slow cars easy on parts fast ones break all kinds of crap.
Hrod was that car red?

Nice wheelie! This is why I love having Gainesville Raceway 25 minutes from me.
1 divisional race in Feb and the Gatornationals in March = lots of wheels up stock and super stock action!

I am not into the maintenance so my next combo will be a turbo motor that makes as much as it makes at 6,000 rpm.
I don't know how people run stuff tearing it down between rounds and after every race, more work than fun to me.

Man that suspension worked flawlessly in that car. Anyone notice that it did not bounce when it finally put the front end back down? Thats EXACTLY what you want a car to do if it does do a big wheelie (which it seems like all of the nasty F-Body stock eliminator cars do).

I am quite familiar with what it takes to run an LT1 in Stock Eliminator. I have been running one in the IHRA for years. I really haven't had a lot of failures, but I do a ton of maintenance. I don't run on "kill" most of the time, which probably helps too.
Take Care,

Stock... That car was white and yellow, 98 up model. Not sure on the name, that car was on kill though. Before the finals there was a long wait and he fired it up, put it on the 2 step for about 45 seconds... Made me cringe.
We know some people trying to run super stock with a 427... They had a bigger cam than my dad does in his 540 but couldn't get it running right. We run around with a few stockers but I don't really know a lot about them.

Hrod,
I thought it was one of the guys I know from KY. Sorry.
Daren,
I know what you mean about the maintenance. I have also done some stupid things which makes more work for me.
We run on kill or almost kill all the time. Not much on going rounds. We like to air them out and set records. That is tougher on parts for sure.
Good luck in the 2008 season.
