Default Faster then 12 sec w/out roll cage

I'm some what confindent that I'll run faster then 12 seconds, but I don't have a cage. After my first run, will they kick me out if I'm faster then 12.00 Never been to the track, just curious how it will pan out, thanks.

make sure you can actaully run 12seconds first. You can have all the power in the world but launch crappy and only run 13-14's ya know

NHRA tracks are 11.99 and under
IHRA tracks are 11.49 and under

I love the IHRA tracks nearby cause you dont need a cage untill 11.49

Usually they warn ya the first time though

Some tracks like US41 in Indiana dont care what you run NHRA is strict though make some 1/8 mile runs and then a few 1000ft runs compare against your old time runs.then youll pretty much figure out what youll run.

It depends ... there's the rules, there's those that enforce the rules and how well do you know and get along with those that enforce the rules.

If you really know your local track operators and officials, then you already know how much they will let "you" get away with.

If you don't know them, then expect to be asked to keep it in the 12s after your first run and booted if you do it again ...

Good Luck

I have run in the 11's for over 1 year and local track has not said anything to me. Just this last Wednesday i ran 11.98@116 on Stock Goodyear F1 tires. The lady that's in charge up at the track did a nice walk around my car in the pits 1 time. I saw this from the stands while watching others make a few passes. But no one has every given me trouble.
I will be getting a 6 point very soon though. Then no worries.

11.99 is the break off for a roll cage, and red boy, if your tracks not an nhra track and its privately owned, they may have there own rules

Mid-Michigan motorplex is a NHRA track -i beleive. It is a great place and the people are real nice to deal with.

Now Martin drag strip is a different story-personally i think the track is great but the people that run it are not worth the name calling! I went 1 time and will never go back unless different people run it. New owner, but same staff. And i have run quicker than 11.99,that trip was street radials only, thanks for the heads up though.

SSpilot- I say run and see if you get the time and if they bump ya,then next time shut it down early or get yourself the right equipment. Not all tracks are terrible about cages. They are just people like everybody else that has a job to do,just remember that.(Don't want to sound preachy, sorry)

they usually wotn say anything if your only a little over (like redsscamaroboy) but if you do like 11.5 they will give you a warning to slow it down. if you go significantly slower (like 11.9) they will probably not hassle you cuz they know your trying to slow down. but if you keep doing 11.9 the whole night they are going to throw you out eventually. just make sure they know your not ignoring them and that your trying to slow it down.
