Aluminum tin comes covered in white plastic, it's so it doesn't get scratched, you don't peel the plastic off until you've cut it and drilled it, then when you are ready to final mount it you peel the plastic off and rivet or bolt it in.

what would the door look like underneath since i'm assuming you're cutting out a ton of metal.

Most of the door isn't metal on the inside it's like a composite. Heaviest thing besides the window and motor/ assembly itself would be the door bars.

Yeah it's all composite. When I wrecked my '00 and had to kick the door out to get out, I was surprised it was not metal.
