So the answer is yes it will pick the front end up easier and it will handle like crap and bottom out easy, you'll also bounce all over the place.
Agree, my crew chief does that on his '67. He's been doing it for 20 + years. Back before they had 90/10 shocks. As ragen mentioned, it might not be a great idea unless it's a trailer only track car.
