2002 ZO6
What are they trapping in 1/4?
I raced one yesterday on the street and walked away from him pretty well. When he reved it it sounded stock, but when we were racing and he got on it, it was loud as hell.
I'm just trying to figure out how my car is running.
Before all my work I was running consistant 13.0 @109
I got to the track a couple weeks ago since head/cam and everything and only ran 12.8 - 13.2 @113!!!!!!!!!!
Some people told me the 3.42 gears are hurting because of not being in a power band. But I figure I'm down at least 5 ph. My race weight was around 3700. There is one hell of a bang underneath on hard shifts, but according to the Snap-on scanner I used a couple days ago, it's not retarding timing at all.
Since the tuning at Cartek I have added Yella Terras (1.7)so maybe I'm running rich.
Yesterdays race was with the 4.10's and once I hit a power band I pulled away pretty strong.
Could the gears make that much of a difference?
Anyway, going back to the track, Cartek (retune), & track again to see what differences I get.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

Re: 2002 ZO6
If you raced from a roll, the Z06 should have been able to pull you if it was a 02. 115mph to 117mph traps are typical for stock Z06's, and 3rd gear is their sweet spot. If from a dig, it comes down to the driver.
Congrats on the kill!!

Re: 2002 ZO6
I have an '02 Z06. With only a ported throttle body, Cold Air Intake, Hurst, and no Torque Reduction, I'm running 12.2 @ 116 on my street tires and 12.0 @ 115 on BFGs. I've since fixed my AFR and have another 11 rwhp so I hope to hit the 11s on BFGs next time out. These are on a 3500 rpm launch and speed shifting.
Stock '02/'03 Z06 with an average driver runs 12.4. Excellent drivers have run 11's bone stock but there are very few people out there who drive that well.

Re: 2002 ZO6
Yah, the ZO6 is pretty amazing out of the box. If I could have one thing on my Z28 off a ZO6 it would be the weight of the car. My mom just bought an 03 a few weeks ago, it's a sweet car. Looks mean in black, too. I kinda wish they would have made autos, though. But of course I would say that, I drive an A4.
